Our Hobbies

During the winter season, ususlly as it draws to an end, we've tested our best dogs in local mid-distance (50km-250km) races. Races are a good place to practice some of the dogs' other skills, such as over-taking! We took part in the Gold Rush Run for 5 years from 2015-2019 and in 2021, and in the Bergebylopet N70 once in 2017.

2015: GRR 90 km (2 x 45), 8th & 9th place (2 teams)

2016: GRR 80 km (2 x 40), 16th place 

2017: BBL N70 160 km, 6th & 7th place, & GRR 140 km (2 x 70), 9th & 10th place 

2018: GRR 140 km (2 x 70), 14th place, 90 km (2 x 45), 22nd place

2019: 90 km (2 x 45) GRR, 22nd place

2020: all races cancelled due to Covid-19

2021: 90 km (2 x 45) GRR,

Since then we've been busier with sledding tours and sadly, the mid-distance GRR races are no longer organised. However, a long distance GRR race (500km) is nowadays organised instead in January. A race of interest that we have been looking into as a new possibility for the future is the Kuusamo mid-distance race or the 230 km long Lapland Quest. Also of interest is the 150 km Tobacco Trail race in Sweden or maybe one of the 110 km or 240 km Bergebylopet N70 races in Norway again.

The next possible calendar opening for us would be in 2026 and we'll be training the race team during the autumn and winter in preparation.
